​Roti is a staple food for about a billion people across the globe, but it takes on average 45 minutes to make by hand. Zimplistic aims to revolutionise this process through its signature product, Rotimatic, the world's first fully automatic roti-making machine. Rotimatic produces one roti a minute, customised to taste with options for selecting the quantity of oil and roast level.

Founded in 2008 by NUS mechanical engineering graduate Pranoti Nagarkar, Zimplistic won first place in the 2009 Start-Up@Singapore business plan competition. This was followed by angel investment in 2010. In 2011, Pranoti's husband, Rishi lsrani joined the company as CEO. He was previously founder and CTO of another start-up, TenCube.

Zimplistic has successfully raised US$3 million in a Series A round from private investors, followed by a US$11.5 million Series B from investors including NSI Ventures and Robert Bosch Venture Capital. Their Rotimatic video went viral on YouTube, amassing over 2.5 million views and converting into US$5 million in pre-sales within a week of its initial launch. Zimplistic is also looking into the production of tortillas, wraps, and gluten-free verticals in future.
