SIA AppChallenge 2021: Past Winners Insights Session #2

Come join us in our last virtual session to uncover what it took for Broskies to emerge as the winners in the SIA AppChallenge 2020!

What does it take to excel in the SIA AppChallenge? In this virtual session, meet our winners, Team Broskies from last year’s AppChallenge.

Team Broskies created KrisScan, a mobile web application that utilizes a QR code-based system to enable self-booking of SilverKris lounge facilities. This solution provides KrisFlyer passengers greater convenience and frees up SIA resources for other services.

Join us in this session to find out more about their experiences and what it takes to win the AppChallenge!

Meet Team Broskies:

Broskies is made up of Aakash, Bryan Leong and Wen Bin Ng.

Aakash: Aakash is a creative-driven individual always looking for opportunities to create impactful engineering and technological solutions. His practical-minded design approach ensures that his ideas not only have an aesthetic appeal but are functional-centric too. While he is currently pursuing undergraduate studies, his entrepreneurial zeal motivated him to start a social enterprise that aims to personalise tuition education and support underprivileged students’ tuition experiences.

Bryan: A highly motivated and aspiring Mechanical Engineer, Bryan constantly seeks for new challenges to improve and test his abilities. His areas of interest include product design and web development. Bryan was part of the NUS FSAE Development Team which embarked on a project to manufacture carbon fiber racing rims in the University. These rims would allow for at least 25% weight reduction and give the race team an edge in the competition held in the USA.

Wen Bin: Wen Bin is an individual with a deep interest in product design, entrepreneurship, and app development. He co-founded Recyclables, a service that enables household residents to hail for a karung guni via a Telegram Bot, and has collected more than 2500kg of recyclables since launch. He is currently pursuing a mechanical engineering degree in NUS.
