Cutting-edge products at the intersection of hardware and software

SpaceAge Labs is a home-grown IoT (Internet of Things) start-up founded by four engineers with the desire to bring to market cutting-edge products at the intersection of hardware and software.

Their product ‘remoteEye’ is a full-stack IoT platform that helps enterprise customers deploy IoT solutions quickly and cost effectively – with sensors, low power wireless connectivity, cloud and applications. Their target markets include Enterprise IoT customers in building & facilities management, utilities, telecoms, smart city infrastructure, heavy industry and agriculture. SpaceAge Labs designed the platform in a way that it is system-integrator friendly – no programming knowledge required.

“As a start-up targeting enterprise customers, credibility is another thing which is important and difficult to navigate around. Having the support of NUS Enterprise has helped open quite a few doors. With the numerous events and opportunities to network, it helped us grow a lot in a matter of months,” said Deepak Peeta, CEO of SpaceAge Labs.

When asked what skillsets entrepreneurs need to succeed, the founders agreed on time management: knowing how to prioritise and tackle tasks that give the highest return on investment.

In 2018, SpaceAge Labs clinched top prize in the Amaravati Pitch Competition at the World Cities Summit, enabling them to pilot their neoteric solutions while helping to build the futuristic capital city of Amaravati in India from scratch. In the course of this project, they will be working closely with the governments of both Singapore and India, as well as established entities such as Sembcorp, Ascendas and Surbana Jurong.

There are also plans in the near-future to go extra-terrestrial, launching 20-30 nano-satellites into space to build a constellation that will provide a cost-effective wireless network for sensors located at remote locations on earth. They are working towards launching their first satellite in 2020.

Currently incubated at the NUS Enterprise @Singapore Science Park facility.
