Pigeonhole Live is the world’s simplest conference Question & Answer tool on the mobile web.
Developed by NUS and iLEAD (now known as NOC Singapore) alumni Hew Joon Yeng and Lyon Lim, both students from the Faculty of Science, PigeonLab’s signature product enables conference goers to submit and vote for questions through their mobile devices. Using the collective wisdom of the crowd, speakers and moderators are able to easily identify popular topics to be addressed.
At the same time, Pigeonhole Live solves two problems frequently faced by traditional Q&A sessions, providing a platform for shy conference attendees to voice their questions, while eliminating the possibility of a vocal attendee monopolising time. The result: a more efficient and engaging experience for both conference speakers and the audience.
Founded in 2010, the company tapped on the support of NUS Enterprise’s incubation community, gaining access to key mentors and business services. “NUS Enterprise helped connect us to many experienced people who gave us valuable feedback on navigating challenges as well as opportunities. Further, the incubator provided office space, as well as legal, intellectual property, and accounting advice. This allowed us to focus on growing the business and developing a compelling product,” said co-founder Lyon Lim.
Since its founding, the company’s services have quickly become a staple at conferences and events in more than 30 countries. Future plans include expanding its reach, growing the team and supporting internal innovation.
