NURTURING A NEW GENERATION OF

'MAD COW' LEADERS

The Philip Yeo Initiative (PYI) is an initiative that invests in the next generation of leaders who will Make a Difference and Change Our World (MAD COW). More than 200 guests attended the Philip Yeo Initiative (PYI) 5th Anniversary dinner, including esteemed guests and donors NUS President Prof Tan Eng Chye, former NUS President Prof Tan Chorh Chuan, and NUS Enterprise CEO (and PYI committee member) Dr Lily Chan. The dinner celebrated the growth and achievements of the 18 PYI Associates/Fellows, grant recipients and youths who took on the path less travelled to create meaningful impact on society.

ADVANCING ENTREPRENEURIAL TIES WITH GERMANY

NUS Enterprise Senior Director Prof Wong Poh Kam was recently invited to Munich for the opening panel of Forum UnternehmerTUM, one of the biggest and most important events for the start-up scene in Germany, to share about NUS' entrepreneurship education model and the role that universities can play in nurturing start-ups. He also signed a MoU with UnternehmerTUM, to promote cross-country partnership to champion entrepreneurial activities. Find out more

WELCOMING 31,000 VISITORS TO NUS

It has been yet another fruitful year for us at the NUS Open Day , which saw a record crowd of over 31,000! The NUS Overseas Colleges booth received a constant stream of visitors, and welcomed back prominent NOC alumni - start-up founders and corporate hustlers - to share their NOC experience. This year, we extended a special invite to poly students to chat, following NUS’s announcement of a new initiative, piloting special admissions to entrepreneurial poly students.

Roceso Technologies
ROCESO TECHNOLOGIES
Roceso is a soft robotics company, striving to make a difference in the lives of patients with limb motor function impairments during the rehabilitation process. With their product EsoGlove deemed one of the world’s lightest hand rehabilitation and exoskeleton devices, this innovation has both head and heart in mind. Roceso is currently housed at the NUS Enterprise@Singapore Science Park.

Having received the #SCSITLeaderAwards2019 IT Youth of the Year award, PYI associate Ritchie Ng shares about his passion for AI and creating Deep Learning Wizard - which has taught more than 3000 students in over 100 countries. He also gives us a glimpse into his daily life as the Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer for Ensemble Capital.
